Acceptable Use Policy
What may not be listed, printed or shipped through Threeprinted.
Last updated: 10 October 2026
This policy is part of our Terms of Service and applies to everyone using Threeprinted. 3D printing makes some things easy to produce that are illegal, dangerous or infringing, so this list is specific rather than generic.
Prohibited items
Weapons and firearm components
- Firearms, receivers, frames, and any component of a firearm — including magazines, suppressors, auto sears, drop-in triggers and conversion devices.
- “Ghost gun” kits, jigs, or files whose purpose is producing an untraceable firearm.
- Ammunition and its components.
- Knives and other weapons that are illegal to sell or possess in the buyer’s jurisdiction, and any concealed or disguised weapon.
- Explosive devices and their components.
Realistic replicas and props are permitted only where lawful, clearly marked as non-functional, unable to be converted into a working weapon, and rated adults only.
Counterfeits and infringing goods
- Items bearing a trademark, logo or brand you are not authorised to use.
- Replicas of branded products sold as, or reasonably mistaken for, genuine.
- Prints of models you do not hold commercial rights to — see our Copyright Policy.
- Circumvention devices, and keys, tools or fobs for bypassing locks or security.
Medical and safety-critical items
- Medical devices, implants, surgical instruments, prosthetics and orthotics presented as fit for clinical use.
- Anything sold as personal protective equipment.
- Components for load-bearing, structural, automotive, aviation or marine safety applications.
- Items making health, therapeutic or medical claims.
Other prohibited items
- Drug paraphernalia, and equipment for manufacturing controlled substances.
- Items sexualising minors, in any form. This results in immediate termination.
- Hateful symbols and material promoting violence against a group.
- Food-contact and toy items that do not meet applicable safety standards.
- Items that cannot lawfully be shipped by the carriers we use.
Prohibited conduct
- Misrepresenting an item — its material, dimensions, strength, finish, print time or origin.
- Using images that are not of the item you will actually ship.
- Rating an item for everyone when it should be adults only — see “Age ratings” in our Terms.
- Manipulating reviews, ratings or order counts, including reviewing your own store.
- Taking payment or arranging delivery outside the Platform to avoid fees, which also removes the buyer’s refund protection.
- Harassment, threats or abusive messages to buyers, sellers or our staff.
- Scraping, automated bulk access, probing our security, or interfering with the Platform’s operation.
- Uploading malware, or files designed to exploit software that opens them.
- Using another person’s identity or payment method.
Enforcement
Depending on severity and history, we may:
- Ask you to correct a listing.
- Unpublish or delete a listing.
- Cancel and refund affected orders.
- Withhold payouts pending review.
- Suspend selling privileges.
- Terminate the account.
- Report the matter to law enforcement where the law requires or the risk warrants it.
We act without prior warning where there is a risk to safety, a legal obligation, or clear bad faith. Otherwise we will usually tell you what is wrong and give you a chance to fix it.
Reporting a problem
If you see a listing that breaches this policy, email support@threeprinted.com with the listing link and what is wrong. Copyright complaints have their own process in our Copyright Policy.
Changes
This list is not exhaustive, and we may update it as new issues appear. We may refuse or remove anything we reasonably consider unsafe, unlawful or damaging to the Platform, even if it is not named above.
