Filament & finish

Filament, layers and finish: four choices in every 3D print.

Every print is a set of trade-offs. These are the ones your maker makes on your behalf, and the ones worth telling them about.

  1. Three identical L-shaped brackets photographed from above on a scuffed plywood bench, printed in cream PLA, translucent amber PETG and dark slate resin
    Step 01 / Material

    The material decides the part.

PLA prints crisply and cheaply. PETG survives a hot car. Resin holds detail a nozzle cannot. Tell a maker what the part has to endure, not which plastic to use.

  2. Extreme close-up of a curved off-white printed surface under raking light, its layer lines running across the curve like the grain of wood
    Step 02 / Orientation

    Layers are the grain.

A print is strongest across its layers and weakest between them. How a part is oriented on the bed decides where it breaks — which is why makers ask what it has to hold.

  3. Digital calipers with the jaws closed across the bore of a grey printed part on a plywood bench, hex keys and a steel rule out of focus behind
    Step 03 / Tolerance

Fit is a number, not a hope.

Holes shrink, bridges sag, first layers spread. A maker who has printed your part before knows the offsets it needs. Send the dimension that matters and say it matters.

  4. One bracket at four stages of finishing, laid in a row on a gridded cutting mat — supports still attached, sanded bare, primed grey, then finished in dark satin — with sandpaper and a brush at the edge
    Step 04 / Finish

    Post-processing is the difference.

Sanded, vapour-smoothed, primed, painted. The layer lines that read as 3D-printed are the ones nobody removed — finishing is work, and it is priced as work.

What the network gives you

Verified 3D printing makers across Canada, held to one standard.

Spec 01 / Materials

Every material, and more than one at a time.

PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, nylon, resin — and makers who run multi-material machines, so a part can be rigid where it bears load and flexible where it seals. Filter by the property you need rather than by the acronym you happen to know.

Spec 02 / Reach

Printed close to you.

Makers across Canada, so a printed order never crosses a border — no customs, no duty, no surprise at the door. A shorter parcel journey is also a cheaper, faster and less breakable one.

Spec 03 / Trust

Every maker is approved.

Sellers pass review before a listing goes live, and on-time delivery earns a standing that shows on their store.

How pricing works

3D printing prices you can hold us to.

The maker sets the price of the work. Everything added on top is listed here, and none of it moves after you have paid.

Every price you see already includes our 20% service fee. Shipping and tax are worked out for your address at checkout, and every line is shown before you confirm — nothing is added that you were not shown.

Your full asking price. Buyers see it with our 20% service fee included, and the fee never comes out of yours. Deliver on time and hold the Reliable maker badge, and you earn up to 3% of the item price on top.

Shipping is quoted from the real parcel at checkout and then frozen: the figure you paid is the figure the maker ships against, whatever the carrier charges later. Tax is worked out from the delivery address, not from the currency you are browsing in.

Prices show in US or Canadian dollars, converted for display and settled in the currency of the order. Switching currency changes what you read, never what the tax is calculated on.

For makers

Your 3D printer could be earning.

You set the price and you receive all of it. Buyers see it with our 20% service fee included, and the fee never comes out of yours. Deliver on time, hold the Reliable maker badge, and part of that fee comes back to you.

Shipping labels
We buy the label from our own carrier account. When the buyer pays for shipping, the postage costs you nothing.
Payments
Buyers pay by card through Stripe. Card processing comes out of our fee — it is not charged to you.
Printed items
Ship to buyers anywhere in Canada. Every maker is in Canada and parcels never cross the border, so your buyers never pay customs or duty.
